Becs skills and experience include:

Becs’ approach starts with community and people at the centre. She has a deep understanding of community and uses that understanding to bridge the gap with other sectors. Navigating these different paradigms is a skill Becs has developed through her years of experience and is underpinned by her study of social anthropology. Becs guiding principles include authenticity, leading by example, being relentless in the pursuit of making a difference, and valuing people and relationships so communities reach their full potential. She believes that anything is possible with the right approach and attitude, and is committed to finding solutions to complex problems. Leading change is what she does.

Through her company TASK Becs can support community organisations, local government, business and communication teams with a range of services.

With nine years experience as an elected member for the Invercargill City Council including 2.5 years as Deputy Mayor and a decade plus working in the community sector she has a deep understanding of both bureaucracy and community. This gives her a unique insight into the workings of both sides which informs the work she does.

Becs’ unique experience and expertise make her well placed to be able to support community organisations with any of their organisational and planning needs.

These services include:

TASK provides a range of services to ensure your business understand and respond to the community sector to build successful relationships. This is becoming more and more important as decision making and direction is being led by communities at the flaxroots, rather than the top down.

If you have a project you would like community feedback on, or you want to understand the community sector and how it is different from your way of operating, or you want to hear from the community and get their input, or you want to work out how to work alongside the community, then Becs’ unique set of skills and understanding are what you need.
